Erik Keiserud has extensive litigation experience, and has been rated as one of Norway’s leading litigation lawyers in various national and international ratings. He has a very broad practice in the areas of commercial law and criminal law, and has in recent years been pronounced “all-rounder of the year” for his broad legal knowledge by the Norwegian newspaper Finansavisen in its annual survey of lawyers. He has also been frequently used as an arbitrator in recent years.

Erik Keiserud chaired the public administration of UNI Storebrand in 1992-1993, and was the board chairman of the State Bank Investment Fund from 1999 to 2004. He is currently the chairman of the Norwegian Bar Association, the National Insurance Scheme Fund and the Family Blix foundation for the furtherance of medical research. He is a member of the executive board of Save the Children Norway. Erik Keiserud has rights of audience before the Supreme Court and, along with other lawyers from Advokatfirmaet Hjort DA, has conducted high-value litigation for Norwegian companies such as Statoil, Telenor and DNB. He also has broad experience in the areas of contract law, the law of damages and real estate matters, including Sami reindeer husbandry.

Erik Keiserud has extensive experience in the area of criminal law, and from 2003 to 2010 was one of five permanent defence counsel for the Supreme Court. He has previously chaired government-appointed criminal procedure committees. He has been permanent defence counsel for Oslo District Court for several years, and together with Appeal Court Judge Hans Kr. Bjerke and Assistant Director of Public Prosecution Knut Erik Sæther has written the commentary edition on the Criminal Procedure Act, which is considered a standard work in its field
